SAMPLE ANSWER :
Write a letter to the supermarket manager explaining what has happened. Tell the manager how you feel about the error and ask him to do something about it.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to you to get your attention on my recent visit to your supermarket when I was billed for products that I did not purchase and was not made aware of it by the billing staff.
I went grocery shopping at your store on the first of October with a long list of items to buy. When I got to the billing counter, there was a long queue and I had to wait for 30 minutes for my turn. By that time, I was too exhausted to keep a check on each item entered in on the bill. Moreover, there was a lot of people still waiting, so I had to pay and rush out, even though I felt that the bill was higher than my usual. On the way out, the security personnel checked the receipt and went through each item, but even they did not highlight the overcharges. When I got home, I realised that I was charged $50 and $200 for a kettle and a 5 liter can of olive oil respectively, which I did not have on my list.
First of all, I am very disappointed in the customer service and the fact that customers cannot blindly rely on the staff at your store. In addition, my pocket took a hit for something I didn’t get. To make things right, I would like to get a full refund of the said amount (including taxes) and I might go back to your store in the future if I get a discount on my next bill and a promise of transparency.
I would greatly appreciate if you take a look into this issue and get back to me with a positive response as soon as possible.
Kind regards
